DIY Weekly Planner

I furrowed my brow in concentration. I was deep in thought -- an altered state of consciousness. My eyes focused with peak precision. My hands steadied adroitly, with the masterful dexterity of a surgeon. I sat at the computer, Writer open, ready to put my mind to paper.

I am going to write that English paper.

Tomorrow. After I make this sweet-ass planner.

Sleep Record Stats: An analysis of sleep data from nearly three and a half years

Prior to starting high school in 2009, I for whatever reason had the idea to write down my waking and sleep times every day. So I did. And continued to do so for years, even now recording my nightly nappy times into the very same notebook. The result is that I have almost four years of sleep data. I realized well before my first year was up that I had a goldmine of interesting personal data to analyze and that I should type it up "sometime." Three years later, I finally did. I excitedly typed up over 1,200 days of information as I thought of all the cool things I could do with the data. I could analyze it statistically, I could organize it graphically, I could correlate it to other events attentively. Enough fantasizing; it's time to analyze.

Task and Project System

I have developed a system of organizing tasks and projects for myself that serve the following purposes:
  1. To allow me to better track my progress.
  2. To allow me to determine what time management paradigms and strategies work the best.
  3. To provide quantitative data on my productivity to find patterns.
  4. To show any correlation between my prodctivity and other factors of my life, such as my sleep schedule.
This is done in two major parts: a daily to-do list and a greater project list.

Introduction

Hi, my name is Jason and I am a 17-year-old self-directed learner. I live in Arizona where I advocate alternative education in order to promote a greater awareness of education and to help other students achieve success, with or without school. I enjoy studying economics, philosophy, mathematics, and computer sciences, and of course education. My hobbies include programming, playing the piano, and parkour.

This blog serves as my portfolio of projects I am working on or have finished, as well a record of my progress in a number of skills that interests me. I hope to populate this blog with content so I may look back see all that I have done, to inspire myself and perhaps others as well.
